Forbes has released its latest “30 Under 30” list in Finance, featuring a significant number of leaders from the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries. This highlights the growing influence of these industries in the financial sector. Among the list of innovators are:
The Crypto Pioneers
- Ham Serunjogi, co-founder of Chipper Cash, leads a platform that serves over five million customers in seven countries, including Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, the U.K., and the U.S. Chipper Cash reported more than $75 million in revenue in 2021, offering services such as money transfers, bill payments, and crypto and stock trading.
- Hayden Adams, founder of Uniswap Labs, transformed an Ethereum-based concept into one of the most popular crypto applications. Uniswap has amassed millions of users and achieved a significant milestone this year, surpassing $1 trillion in lifetime trading volume.
Rising Stars in Financial Establishments
Not only are there young leaders from startup companies on the Forbes list, but there are also research and management leaders from well-established financial institutions such as BlackRock and Fidelity. Ria Bhutoria, for example, started as an equity research analyst at Credit Suisse and later became the Director of Research at Fidelity Digital Assets. She currently manages $4.5 trillion in assets. Bhutoria’s commitment to diversity in the crypto space is evident in her investment activities through the decentralized collective Komorebi.
“This year’s list highlights the significant role digital assets and blockchain technology are playing in shaping modern financial services and solutions,” said Forbes’ Chief Digital and Information Officer, Vadim Supitskiy.
Komorebi, co-founded by Kinjal Shah, is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that invests in crypto projects led by women and underrepresented minorities. Shah, who previously worked at Fidelity and Blockchain Capital, has shown a strong commitment to diversity in the crypto space. Her involvement significantly influenced the funding of Upshot, an NFT analytics platform now valued at over $100 million.
The recognition these young leaders have received highlights the potential of blockchain technology in the realm of data storage and security. The “30 Under 30” list was even live on the Ethereum blockchain, demonstrating Forbes’ progressive approach to embracing cutting-edge technology.
“Forbes is at the forefront of marrying traditional media with cutting-edge technology. By launching the Under 30 list on the Ethereum blockchain, we’re not just recognizing the influential young leaders; we’re also demonstrating the vast, untapped potential of blockchain technology in the realm of data storage and security,” said Vadim Supitskiy.
