Spot BTC ETF: Short-term Hype, Long-term Potential

Renowned VanEck adviser, Gabor Gurbacks, has shed light on the market hype surrounding a Bitcoin (BTC) spot ETF, highlighting the potential for long-term gains as the window widens. In a recent tweet, Gurbacks emphasized that the impact of a spot BTC ETF has been overestimated in terms of short-term inflows, but could bring significant inflows as time progresses.

Gurbacks predicts that initially, the market could see limited inflows of around $100 million, mostly coming from institutional investors who have recycled funds. However, once the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approves an ETF, there is the potential for staggering inflows driven by institutional investors. Gurbacks draws a parallel to the gold market, using past statistics to predict the future of Bitcoin.
