TRezor Launches New Products and Limited-Edition Bitcoin Wallet to Celebrate 10th Anniversary

Major crypto hardware wallet company Trezor has recently unveiled two new products, along with a limited-edition Bitcoin wallet, to commemorate its milestone of 10 years. The limited-edition Bitcoin wallet, available in a vibrant bitcoin orange color, sold out within a single day, showcasing the high demand for Trezor’s offerings.

Enhancing Self-Custody with Beginner-Friendly Features

CEO Matěj Žák acknowledged that self-custody can be daunting for many individuals, especially newcomers to the crypto space. To address this, the company developed the new Trezor Safe hardware wallet and the physical seed phrase store Trezor Keep Metal, with a focus on simplicity and security. Žák emphasized, “They’re packed with security features to keep digital assets safe.”

The Trezor Safe hardware wallet, known as Trezor Safe 3, is promoted as an affordable, user-friendly, and ultra-secure solution for “everyone.” It caters to the diverse individuals entering the cryptocurrency realm. A key highlight of the wallet is the inclusion of a secure element, a tamper-resistant hardware component that offers additional protection against physical attacks in the event of device loss.

“Trezor also chose an unnamed, third-party secure element vendor that allows it to publish any potential vulnerabilities it finds.”

Trezor extends its commitment to transparency by partnering with an undisclosed secure element vendor, ensuring the ability to disclose and address any security vulnerabilities that arise. Additionally, the company remains dedicated to open-source principles by leveraging the security component in Trezor Safe 3.

Trezor Safe 3 supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, ethereum, and over 7,000 other coins. With a retail price of $79, this hardware wallet is available in four trendy colors: Comsim Black, Galactic Rose, Stellar Silver, and Sollar Gold.

Safeguarding Recovery Seed with Unmatched Protection

Trezor recognizes the significance of protecting the recovery seed, which serves as the literal key to accessing funds stored in the wallet in case of damage, loss, or theft. However, securing this string of words can pose challenges for users. To address this, Trezor introduces Trezor Keep Metal, a solution designed to simplify the process of recording the recovery seed and safeguard it from various threats.

Trezor Keep Metal is constructed using aerospace-grade stainless steel, ensuring resistance to corrosion. It also features a watertight seal, providing protection against fire, water, acids, and impacts. The device supports 12-word and 24-word standard backups and is available for $99.

Moreover, Trezor offers Trezor Keep Metal for 3 x 20-word Shamir backups, priced at $249.

Limited-Edition Bitcoin Wallet and Bitcoin’s Expanding Reach

As a tribute to the 10th anniversary of Trezor’s hardware wallet, the company released a limited-edition batch of Bitcoin-only Trezor Safe 3 devices in the distinctive color of bitcoin orange. Limited to only 2,013 units, each priced at $79, these exclusive wallets quickly sold out, reflecting the growing prominence of Bitcoin.

“In a nod to Trezor’s breakthrough year, only 2,013 devices were available, for $79 each.”

Every sale of the limited-edition wallet contributes €21 to the Trezor Academy, an initiative dedicated to Bitcoin education.

Žák emphasized the growing interest in BTC, noting that there are currently 420 million crypto owners worldwide, with predictions of reaching one billion by 2027, encompassing approximately eight percent of the global population. In light of this exponential growth, he remarked, “As we approach the next wave of Bitcoin adoption, we’ve introduced some compelling new devices that enable crypto novices and newcomers to enjoy the security and peace of mind that comes with owning and safeguarding their own crypto.”
