The director of the series “Conquest” on Netflix, Carl Rinsch, is now facing allegations of breaching his contract with the streaming giant. Despite the substantial investment of over $55 million by Netflix, Rinsch has failed to deliver any completed episodes, leading to doubts about his commitment to the project.
Rinsch’s Extravagant Purchases
Seizing the opportunity, Rinsch indulged in extravagant purchases, including luxury cars like a Ferrari and five Rolls-Royces, along with high-end designer goods, totaling $8.7 million. This lavish spending has raised eyebrows and further fueled Netflix’s concerns about Rinsch’s dedication to fulfilling the agreed-upon contract.
Confidential Arbitration Proceedings
In response to the director’s failure to deliver, Netflix has written off the project and initiated confidential arbitration proceedings against Rinsch. The streaming service claims that Rinsch was never going to complete the project, while Rinsch argues that Netflix owes him at least $14 million in damages.
“It was clear that Mr. Rinsch was never going to complete the project he agreed to make.” – Thomas Cherian, Netflix spokesperson
The outcome of the arbitration remains undisclosed as both parties engage in legal negotiations. As the battle between Netflix and Rinsch continues, the future of the series “Conquest” remains uncertain.
