Disgraced FTX Co-Founder Faces Cross Examination

“Sam Bankman-Fried “may be at the very top of the list as the worst person I’ve ever seen do a cross examination,” said David Mills, a colleague from Stanford Law School.

According to Mills, the former FTX CEO went off-script during the trial, deviating from the prepared strategy and struggling with prosecutors’ difficult questions. Mills believes that even with a different performance, the outcome would not have changed due to the judge’s rulings and witness testimony.

“I think Bankman-Fried is innocent because he didn’t form the intent to do anything wrong,” Mills added.

WisdomTree ETFs to be Closed and Liquidated

Asset manager WisdomTree announced its plans to close and liquidate three exchange-traded funds (ETFs): WisdomTree International ESG Fund (RESD), WisdomTree Emerging Markets ESG Fund (RESE), and WisdomTree U.S. ESG Fund (RESP). The liquidation date for all three ETFs is set on February 5, 2024. Shareholders who do not sell their shares by January 26, 2024, will have their shares automatically redeemed for cash based on the ETF’s net asset value (NAV).

Blockchain gaming startup Spielworks secured strategic funding from The Hashgraph Association to acquire the non-fungible token (NFT) platform Atomic Hub. By leveraging the Hedera network’s public ledger, Spielworks aims to scale its business and develop the Web3 gaming ecosystem globally.
