FIFA Announces New Partnership with Modex for Digital Collectibles

FIFA, the renowned international governing body for football, has recently unveiled an exciting collaboration with tech firm Modex to launch a new digital collectible collection. The project, titled ‘FIFA+ Collect,’ will introduce a “dual digital collectible” for the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023. In a press release, FIFA stated that the first drop of 100 digital collectibles will be available on December 15, presenting football fans with an incredible opportunity to secure FIFA World Cup 26 final tickets.

Modex CEO Francesco Abbate expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that additional collectibles will be released on the FIFA+ Collect platform during the FIFA Club World Cup. These collectibles will showcase some of the most memorable moments from the tournament. Notably, FIFA has chosen to utilize the Polygon network for minting its non-fungible tokens (NFTs) this time, instead of using Algorand as their previous blockchain platform of choice. Furthermore, FIFA plans to issue a total of 900 digital collectibles on Polygon on December 19, which will also be available on the OpenSea marketplace.
