Gaming Giant Ubisoft Offers Free Ethereum NFT Mint for Upcoming Game Champions Tactics

Gaming company Ubisoft has announced that it will be holding a free Ethereum non-fungible token (NFT) mint for its highly anticipated game, Champions Tactics. The company recently unveiled “The Warlords PFP Collection” on Twitter, encouraging gamers to engage with the post by following, liking, retweeting, and commenting if they want to participate in Ubisoft’s first-ever free mint on Ethereum.

The Game: Champions Tactics

Champions Tactics is a Web3 PvP Tactical RPG set in the dark and immersive world of Grimoria. Developed by the creators of the renowned Assassin’s Creed franchise, Ubisoft plans to release the game for PC early next year. To celebrate the launch, there will be a free Champions drop, as mentioned on the game’s FAQ page.

The Warlords: Unique Digital Collectibles

According to the official website, a Warlord is a unique digital collectible that serves as a profile picture (PFP). It also grants its owner early access to mint in-game playable figurines called Champions. Each Warlord possesses 170 distinct traits, such as armor, weapons, headgear, and more. Some of these traits are rarer than others, as is common in collectibles.

Ubisoft has announced that it will reserve 999 random Warlords in a Market Vault for future giveaways, partnerships, and rewards. Additionally, the company will provide 1,000 random Warlords to its partner, the Oasys blockchain, for its own community.

If any Warlords remain unclaimed at the end of the mint, Ubisoft plans to store them in a Treasury Vault for future community rewards.

To claim a Warlord, participants must have a Ubisoft account and a compatible wallet, such as Metamask or Face Wallet, with sufficient ETH to cover transaction fees. While claiming a Warlord is free, participants will be required to pay gas fees.

Once a Warlord is successfully minted, owners will initially see a placeholder on the OpenSea marketplace or in their wallet due to a “delayed Reveal.” The Reveal will occur either after all Warlords have completed the minting process or at the end of the Public Mint to ensure a fair and equitable distribution.

The minting process will be divided into two phases: the Private Mint and the Public Mint. The Private Mint will be exclusive to users who have been selected for the Dark List, which includes Grim Guardians, OG Champions, and Champions. This phase will last for 8 hours. Following this, a 24-hour public mint will take place, allowing anyone to participate on a first-come, first-served basis.

As per the FAQ section, the number of Warlords that can be minted varies depending on the user’s tier. During the Private Mint, Champions, OG Champions, and Grim Guardians can mint up to 2, 3, and 4 Warlords, respectively. Public mint participants can claim up to 2 Warlords.

It’s important to note that individuals residing in certain countries, such as Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Burundi, China, Cuba, France, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Nepal, North Korea, Myanmar, Qatar, Russia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Crimea and Sevastopol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, will not be able to play the game.
