Manny Pacquiao Foundation to Utilize Shibarium Blockchain for Fundraising

Legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao’s philanthropic foundation, the Manny Pacquiao Foundation, has announced its plans to leverage the Shiba Inu ecosystem’s blockchain Shibarium for fundraising and operational activities. The foundation, founded by Manny Pacquiao, a renowned eight-division World Boxing Champion and former Philippine Senator, will begin utilizing Shibarium on Wednesday.

Shibarium, a layer 2 blockchain built on the Ethereum network, offers increased speed and minimized bottlenecks compared to the base blockchain. Currently in its beta phase, known as PUPPYNET 3, Shibarium aims to foster digital innovation and enable swift, cost-effective peer-to-peer transactions.

The Manny Pacquiao Foundation is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been accepting Shiba Inu (SHIB) donations on its website since 2021. The foundation’s Executive Director, Jon Sisson, expressed the foundation’s dedication to helping those in need around the world, stating, “The Pacquiao Foundation is dedicated to fighting for those in need around the world and has already done so for more than a million people requiring urgent assistance.”

Empowering Communities and Enabling Charitable Support

“Shibarium will allow us to continue this good work while scaling up operations to help millions more,” said Jon Sisson, Executive Director of the Manny Pacquiao Foundation.

The Manny Pacquiao Foundation aims to empower communities and individuals through charitable support and messages of hope. Over the years, the foundation has successfully completed various housing projects in Uganda and the Philippines, supported medical missions in different cities, and provided relief aid for over 100,000 people in need.

Pacquiao’s Past Ventures into Crypto and NFTs

Manny Pacquiao is no stranger to the world of cryptocurrency. In 2018, he served as an ambassador for Singapore-based crypto exchange GCOX and was involved in the launch of the Pac Token. Pacquiao further expanded his ventures in the crypto space in 2021 through the introduction of PacPay, his crypto and fintech firm.

With PacPay, fans can subscribe to the digital card and make QR code payments at over 61 million merchants worldwide. Additionally, Pacquiao has dabbled in the NFT market, collaborating with Lodi Technologies to launch the “Pacman the Jack Russell” NFT collection and the Manny Pacquiao NFT in July 2022. In March of the same year, Pacquiao partnered with GameFi Project Xeno for a blockchain project, offering exclusive NFT designs for purchase using stablecoins or credit cards.

By embracing the potential of blockchain technology and the Shibarium platform, the Manny Pacquiao Foundation aims to continue its mission of making a positive impact on communities worldwide while expanding its reach and efficiency in providing assistance and support.
