Defense Attorney Claims Prosecution Paints FTX Founder as a Monster

Defense Counters Prosecution in Sam Bankman-Fried Trial

Defense attorney Mark Cohen has accused the prosecution in the trial of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried of attempting to portray Bankman-Fried as a monster. Cohen argued that the prosecution’s characterization of his client as a villain in a movie lacks a real-world perspective. Cohen further claimed that the prosecution intentionally portrayed Bankman-Fried in a negative light by showing a picture of him with a deck of cards, suggesting that he had a penchant for taking risks.

Cohen refuted these claims, stating that Bankman-Fried did not engage in gambling activities and used the deck of cards to manage his fidgeting. While acknowledging Bankman-Fried’s unconventional appearance and hairstyle, Cohen emphasized that these factors have no bearing on his client’s guilt.
