European Union Approves New Regulations for Cryptocurrency Firms

European Union (EU) finance ministers have unanimously approved new regulations that require cryptocurrency firms to share data on customer cryptocurrency holdings with tax authorities. This decision was made on October 17 with the adoption of the Eighth Directive on Administrative Cooperation (DAC8), scheduled to go into force in 2024.
