Popular NFT Collection Pudgy Penguins Launches Pudgy Toys in Walmart Stores

The popular NFT collection, Pudgy Penguins, has taken a significant step forward by launching its Pudgy Toys collection in 2,000 Walmart stores across the United States. This move is expected to greatly increase the exposure of these toys, which have been available online since May.

Each Pudgy Toy purchased will come with a unique birth certificate, allowing owners to claim exclusive traits for their digital ‘Forever Pudgy’ character within Pudgy World. By simply scanning a QR code, users can unlock these traits in an immersive online virtual world built on the zkSync Era blockchain.

This collaboration with Walmart has already had a positive impact on the trading volume of Pudgy Penguins. CoinGecko data shows that the NFT collection has experienced a remarkable 530% increase, with a trading volume of 1,033 ETH (equivalent to approximately $1.6 million) over the past day. Additionally, the floor price of the collection has surged by 11% to 5.2 ETH (approximately $8,200), and its market cap now stands at 46,008 ETH ($73 million).

Pudgy World, the immersive multiplayer digital environment associated with Pudgy Penguins, offers users the opportunity to explore, play games, and fully customize their Forever Pudgy character. Since its launch in 2021, Pudgy Penguins has achieved an impressive $400 million in sales. The brand’s success can be attributed to its effective use of social media and experiential marketing strategies, setting it apart from other NFT collections that have struggled to gain traction.
